You can do the same thing with two zippers and a hook and loop flap but it isn't as simple or nearly as tough. We use a nice big #10 coil zipper with two sliders. But wait! There’s more! Because of the extended zipper the top gets another layer of closure when you clip the bag shut. It clips with a 2" side release buckle and a strap. This is also your shoulder strap. Rather than a shoulder strap that connects to the bag with D-rings and Swivels our strap is built into the bag. No twisting. No failing hardware. When you are traveling, sling the duffel over your shoulder like one of our courier bags. The weight is distributed over your shoulder and the bag hugs you and moves with you. Brilliant, if I do say so myself.
